Amazon decided to evaluate the possibility of using energy piles to supply energy to its Warehouses from geothermal sources, contributing to its Net Zero strategy.

The study wants to explore further the possibility of integrating energy piles with other geothermal energy sources (such as energy slabs, energy walls, boreholes etc.) to maximize energy production and storage.

GEOEG has been involved in this project for the assessment for the most promising geothermal solution in Amazon Warehouses – ARS building.

The analyses addressed the energy, economic, and environmental aspects governing the feasibility and performance of such systems.

A comparison was made between the characteristics of the geothermal systems and the current typical system implemented in Amazon Warehouses for three different climatic conditions.
